Writing As Ceremony

Ceremonies can be carried out by one person or a group of focused individuals who share the same intention. Ceremonial activities seek to make a desirable change in oneself, one’s relationship(s), or the external environment. Explore how your writing practice can expand your spiritual development and contribute to the evolution of our collective, all while improving your literary skills.

The Power of Spiritual Activism

Adinkra Symbol

We are living through the exciting times of a paradigm shift from believing that individualism, separation, and competition drive our evolution to understanding the value of collectivity, connection, and cooperation in moving forward. Humanity’s consciousness will expand or contract based on our responses to this moment. We need to ask ourselves which forms of resistance are going to improve the situation and which will further polarize us. If your worldview is informed by connection, cooperation, and collectivity, what is the most appropriate and effective response to hate and violence? “At this point in my life, I am not capable of loving the haters, killers, and liars. But I do have the capacity to transmute their hate, anger, and disrespect.” (Zainab Amadahy)

Living Water

Indigenous Elders the world over speak of Living Water. What do they mean? For Indigenous Peoples, “Water is Life” and many ceremonies and practices remind us of water’s purifying, healing, and life-giving properties. Indigenous knowledges maintain that water contains life force, holds memory, and communicates to those who listen. Emerging science on “structured” water easily aligns with Indigenous knowledges. What has the colonized mind forgotten about water? What do we need to remember as we decolonize our relationship with water? What is your relationship with water like and how do you want it to change? Register here.
